Ughhhhh . . .

I'm sad to say that I spent the evening (most of it) [learning how to] uninstalling our under-sink garbage disposal, a.k.a Insinkerator. <ramble>This was but one of an ever-increasing list of shit that's breaking around our house. But tonight, I couldn't take it anymore. Well, that, and I had a lot of energy because I went to the gym for the first time in weeks . . . and Sharon worked late so I had "time".</ramble>

Anyway . . . this thing was such a pain. I had uninstalled nearly every visible piece of hardware off of the thing without having actually removed it from underneath the sink . . . and was still left scratching my noggin. So I consulted old faithful, the Internet. Once I had read a few small articles, I had had the mechanism removed from underneath the sink in under five.

The reason the thing had to be uninstalled in the first place was that "someone" uses a shot-glass to wash down [insert gender pronoun here] vitamins in the mornings instead of using an otherwise "normal" vessel - because it's "less to wash". Well, that practice is over. Apparently the shot glass found its way into the garbage disposal and . . . well, I'm guessing you're way ahead of me by now.

I thought initially that it had burned out the motor. But it had simply tripped the breaker (thank a higher being for those). After having dumped all of the shards of glass, and other things which smelled like death, out of the appliance . . . I gave the inside a well-deserved bath with a concoction of chemicals - anything to remove that "death" smell.

Shortly thereafter, reinstalled and powered on. Sounds like new. Too bad it's 9PM now. I suppose I'll celebrate my small victory (I'm not real handy, but getting there quick) with a bottle of Yuengling.

LOL - this was so worth the read. I can't envision you under the sink any more than I can see Todd there.

As usual, I do have one point to make (must be the woman in me). Instead of criticizing Sharon's ability to reduce dish-washing - support her by purchasing a box of those little dixie cups (you know, the ones you see in the dentist office). Then - she gets her way and you get yours - everyone is happy :)

Seriously - sometimes I think I'm a genius.

Love ya!

Yuengling is great beer! We are originally from PA, and miss that beer so much...
