Turns out everyone had a great time hanging out in the basement...could be that all the alcohol was down there? I have a feeling we might be hosting Turkey again next year. It was truly a wonderful time.

Thanksgiving in the basement
Yes, I realize I am posting Thanksgiving in January...
When we learned my mother's ENTIRE family was coming over, not only were we happy...but we were a little freaked out. Where is everyone going to sit? After much debate, we decided the basement was the perfect place. It's huge and it's the only place where everyone can sit down at once. And yes, now there was no excuse to finally clean the basement. We did a few fun things for our event. We set up the tables "restaurant style" with tables scattered everywhere. To be honest, that was the only way it was going to work. We created a buffet table for all the food. This way no one had to run up and downstairs, except me.
We had appetizers in the living room and in the sun room. (Which didn't matter because everyone hung out in the basement). On our chalkboard wall upstairs (photo above) I drew a turkey and wrote "Happy Thanksgiving", and listed everyone's name. Glad I didn't forget anyone.
But...best of all was the makeshift bar area Bryan created with our outdoor patio set. Ha! He hooked up the TV in the corner, and with a little left over carpet, lights, and other decor - we were in business. (Oh, and all the alcohol)
Turns out everyone had a great time hanging out in the basement...could be that all the alcohol was down there? I have a feeling we might be hosting Turkey again next year. It was truly a wonderful time.
