So . . . elsewhere, I'm keeping a daily log of my fourth round of wine-making. Hopefully, this log will serve as a reminder of what I did right (and wrong) . . . as well as to serve as a "tutorial", perhaps, to others interested in learning what I do to make wine. It's no science, really.Anyway, as my wife and I were discussing the wine-making process last night, she began to tell me of the latest rage in wine-making. I found it most interesting. Don't know where she finds all this stuff, but she constantly has her nose into some book, periodical, or newspaper.
It's a fruit wine. Fruit wine is neat. Usually just fermenting fruits like apples makes great wine. She proceeded to shock me by telling me that the hottest new thing is to make raisin wine. Apparently (Reader's Digest version, here), all that you need to do is to reconstitute the raisins back to grapes by putting them into water, and then round it out by fermenting the mash. Sounds logical. We rehydrate dried apricots for our morning oatmeal all the time, so can't be that difficult.
This sounds so interesting that it may be my next project. Anyone want a bottle? (If you want a bottle, you must post a reply to this entry!)

Sounds interesting - how long does the whole process take - you will have to post a follow up and let us know how it turns out :)
I only want one if it turns out to not suck :)
AND IT WON'T CRASH MY COMPUTER.
