china: 2 weeks and counting . . .

Here we are . . . only 2 weeks away. It's becoming more of a reality, the closer our departure approaches. I haven't done much to prepare in the past few days, less a few Mandarin lessons. But . . . 2 weeks out warrants a post.

Breast Cancer 3-Day Update

I spoke with Sharon throughout the day yesterday, and once today. She completed her 19.8 mile journey, and is currently on mile 8 of today's. I'm very proud of her. She has some pretty wicked blisters, but she's able to tolerate them. She stated that her mother logged 10 miles yesterday, and was stuggling to make 10 today . . . but has intentions to do it.

I'm goddamn annoyed at the Akron Beacon Journal's lack of coverage of this event. Though, the event is taking place in the Greater Cleveland area, we're close enough to Cleveland that it's still within Akron's jurisdiction to cover SOMETHING. I mean, don't we represent Akron, as participants in this event? For chrissake.
