I dropped Sharon off at Northfield Park for the Breast Cancer 3-Day walk she is participating in this weekend.
Wakie-wakie came early this morning, with arise at 04:30 and on the road by 05:00. There between 05:30 and 06:00. I gotta tell ya, given that the traffic pouring into this place was crippling, one could just tell that they're putting on one hell of a show this weekend. You could truly feel the energy as participants were triaged for check-in. There was so much "pink" and so much *cool* to see . . . they even had 3-Day Radio playing. I have to admit that - even as a man - it was cool.
Sharon's mother had arrived at 05:25 and had been anticipating Sharon's arrival. Sharon's Dad was also there to see the two of them off and had the privilege of hanging around for the opening ceremony (I think). I respectfully declined the offer to stay based on the thought(s) that by the time I would find parking (kindof a clusterphuck) and meet back up with them . . . and then try to find my way out sometime later, I would have consumed the better part of an hour . . . and it was already 6AM. Gotta go to work today, and had no mind to fight traffic this morning. Plus, arriving to work early = leaving work early . . . and hey, let's face it: It's Friday.
Oh, what shall I ever do this weekend, unfettered? Well they say, "While the cat's away, the mouse will play." This is, of course, in reference to my cats . . . and should by no means find be interpreted or misconstrued in any way that may put me in a negative light. However that applies. Yeah. *sigh*
